Thanksgiving 2012

We are staying home this year.  Chas has to work on Thanksgiving day, and we have so much that needs to be done around the house, we decided not to travel at all.  (I may actually get caught up on laundry, for the first time... EVER!)

I did want to share some of the MANY things for which I am thankful.

• My fortune to live in this free country
• Education: I would not be the person I am today without the public education system (And... Go Gators!)
• Employment: allows for the things we need and sometimes the things we want
• My career of choice: I love it, every day
• Specifically my coworkers and place of
work: makes all the difference

• My health: while not perfect, I am able-bodied and of sound mind
• The health of my children: I can deal with eczema, asthma, & peanut allergies- knowing that they are otherwise healthy
• Modern medicine: for when we are less than healthy
• Good insurance: to help with above
• My home: keeps me safe and warm
• My family, near and far
• My friends: truly “the family you choose”
• My husband, supportive in thick and thin
• My first-born: unique in every way, my beautiful genius child, Abigail Lane
• My “baby”: a surprise every day, my creative, silly, sweet boy, Alexander James

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Back to school!

Can't believe I go back to work on Monday!  It has been a great summer- but they sure seem to go by faster and faster as the years go by.  ;o)   Abby starts back the following Monday (the 30th) and we've decided that we're both READY.  It will be an interesting year, too- new Superintendent, new principal, and working with some new teachers- I'm really excited about what the new year has in store.  <3
